Seven Reasons Why

Undoubtably, you have your own reasons for wanting to hire a copywriter or someone to lead a specific project. Whatever your reasons they reflect your needs and unique challenges. I won’t pretend to know them. There are, however, some general reasons -seven in fact - why hiring a copywriter, and more specifically, hiring me, makes sense.

  1. Ease and Speed: From a practical level you eliminate all the hassles of payroll taxes, benefits costs, and other employee expenses. You hire me, I get to work today on a specific project with a concrete outcome. From a less practical stand-point I’m easy to work with, flexible, and diligent. Will this make you sleep better at night? Probably not. But it will be one less thing you need to worry about.

  2. Specificity: I’m only there when needed.  You’ll never have to worry about keeping me busy or, even better, see me wandering the halls looking for something to do! By definition, a freelance corporate writer is engaged with your company only when and where needed.

  3. Productivity: Not mine, but your employees. When you hire me your employees are free to concentrate on they do best. I get up to speed fast and make the most out of every opportunity. I work closely with them or as independently as needed. With skills that extend well beyond just writing copy, I can direct your creative project so it gets done on-time and on-budget.

  4. Perspective: I bring a fresh, multi-discipline perspective to every project.  Most company employees are very knowledgeable--in their area of expertise.  Unfortunately, this specialization can limit the broader perspective and quality that they can bring to a document. My broad experience ensures that the finished product is high quality where issues of grammar, technical accuracy, context, public relations, and balance are given appropriate attention.

  5. Focus: Writing is tough work. It takes dedicated time and effort. Often it gets pushed to busy employees who are not comfortable in handling writing and editing assignments. This sometimes results in a finished document that does not reflect the true quality of your organization. Unfortunately, now it is in print or splashed out on the web - for all to see.  I ensure your content gets the proper attention and that your company is represented in the best possible light.

  6. Curiosity: You’ve heard from the guy down the hall, the engineers, the lawyers, HR, the boss and even your brother-in-law. They’ve all eagerly given their opinions and their good ideas. Listening is critical. As your copywriter I bring a genuine curiosity for listening and hearing all points of view. And then coalescing and crafting them strategically for your organization.

  7. Competitive Edge: I bring strategic thinking and Off the Leash expertise and creative direction into every copywriting project. Strong branding and thoughtful positioning elevate your ads, marketing material, or website into powerful organizational assets.
