Biography
Eric Mason is WigDawg. An experienced copywriter and seasoned communications professional with a diverse background. Eric brings this wealth of experiences to his work were he has earned a reputation for creativity, bold approaches and professionalism. Eric has worked successfully with top Silicon Valley organizations as well as for national and international marketing efforts.
From 1999-2007 Eric was the creative force behind every marketing, outreach, public relations, special event, web, web2.0, print, and video and media campaign at the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology. Eric worked successfully and collaboratively with leading high-tech corporations, non-profit and academic partners such as Google, HP, IBM, Cisco, Sun Microsystems, Intel, ACM, NAE, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Cal-Tech and many others on strategic communications, special projects, collaborative outreach and public and media relations.
During this time Eric led, (through WigDawg Communications) a variety of projects, marketing and copywriting for such clients as, CoolEatz Corporation, Iceland Naturally, IcelandAir, Open Arms Through Art - Viet Nam, Maison Chance, Hartcom, 66 North, Reyka Vodka, Leifur Eiriksson and others.
Prior to the Anita Borg Institute, Eric lived and worked in rural East Java, Indonesia with Volunteers In Asia, a Stanford affiliated postgraduate program. From 1986 – 1991 as a Professional Triathlete, Eric was sponsored by and actively involved with corporations representing their products and services. Among these were Cruzo Corp., Power Bar, Trek Bicycles, Mrs. T’s, Anheuser-Busch, Saucony, Hind Sportswear, AME Sunglasses, and Freestyle Sports.
Regardless of the venue, configuration, culture or challenge, Eric repeatedly delivers results. He has proven himself a superlative campaign leader, insightful communications professional, authentic team builder, and collaborative player. He has planned, organized, managed, and controlled the marketing communications for a wide array of programs and efforts and participated in and led strategic planning of cross functional marketing activities with senior management to ensure maximum return on investment.
Eric “WigDawg” Mason lives in Palo Alto, California were he is an active member in the local community. He grew up in Eugene, Oregon where he attended and ran x-country and track with the University of Oregon. Eric speaks Bahasa Indonesian and participates in a number of international not-for-profit organizations which work with children and students throughout Southeast Asia.
